Okey... so, I’ve been really stuck on this first activity, very out of ideas, but I decided I really want to focus on tracking and trucking.
But here's my issue now: I have what I want to practice, but I don’t know how or why. I’m stuck on what kind of feeling I want the video to have, and how I am going to perform it.
Brainstorm:
I have a few ideas on how to make these shots without a professional camera tool... here they are:
1. Using a rolling chair: I can sit in a chair with wheels while someone pushes me, creating the movement for the trucking (I think this is better for trucking because it is from the side).
2. Car idea: If I want to film someone running or walking with a faster pace, I could ask my mother, for example, to give me a hand, driving slowly while I film from the inside of the car, holding my phone out the window.
3. Walking and holding the phone: This would be the more basic and simple method, that will mostly work in tracking, either from the front or from the back. I would just need to hold my phone while walking. (It can be a bit shaky, but for shorter takes or even for simple walking takes, with practice and various tries it can turn out really good!)
What feeling do I want to convey?
I don't really know yet what do I want to convey but one idea I have is showing a panicked character, walking desperately, maybe getting somewhere and being late, or being unable to find someone or something, and using the "walking and holding the phone" method to show movement and creating that sense of urgeness. Apart from that, I could film it from the back, showing what the character sees to create a sense of being inside of the character's feelings.
